Ahmed M. Obo, President and Founder of Jambo Kids Foundation and the Jambo Kids Clinic in an effort to give back to the community that nurtured him. Ahmed is known in Santa Fe as being the Chef and Owner of Jambo Café, Jambo Hapa (a food truck), and Jambo Imports.
Janet Gotkin, Secretary
Janet Bailey owns and operates a small, national retail chain, Barbara’s Bookstores. She is the author of three books, Chicago Houses, Keeping Food Fresh and The Good Servant, a story of Los Alamos science and scientists. She founded GrayWatch, a non-profit dedicated to medical information and assessment in New Mexico. She is on the steering committee of ECO Magnet School. She is married with four children and nine grandchildren.
Julia Cairns, is an English artist/illustrator living in Galisteo NM. For 10 years she lived in Botswana, Africa and has illustrated 11 books for children. Her work can be seen at Jambo Cafe. In 2015 Julia held a fundraiser for Jambo Kids Women’s clinic and is very honored to be on the Board of Directors for this very important Foundation.
Julie Martinez, MD
Richard White is a community minded individual, committed to making a difference. He consults with area non-profit organizations and helps stage fund-raising events of varying sizes and themes. Richard is an accomplished photographer and graphic designer providing professional services to local industries. He earned a BBA from NMSU, majoring in Accounting, is a grief facilitator and board member at Gerard’s House. Richard is honored and proud to be part of Jambo Kids Foundation.
Lyric Kali, Marketing & Development owns Black Star Heart : Marketing & Communications & Social Enterprise management. Ms. Kali also provides support for other endeavors Jambo Cafe, Jambo Hapa, and Jambo Imports. Her passion is supporting people-owned business and making great services, products, and ideas thrive.
