The Jambo Kids Clinic:  

  • Is now in its fourth year of operation and is open 6 days a week
  • Serves an average of 390 people a month—30% are children under five
  • Primary health complaint is respiratory issues
  • Second health issue is stomach/intestinal (diarrhea) ailments
  • Third most treated ailment is skin disturbances (rashes, breakouts) including wounds
  • Fourth most prevalent health complain is urinary tract infections (age 6 and older)
  • Most asked for service was pregnancy care and post-natal care for women/newborns

2016–2018 Goals 

Expand the existing building upward to create room for:

  • expand the diagnostic laboratory
  • expand pre-natal and post-natal services, plus well-baby check-ups
  • increase the number of qualified and dedicated staff 
  • implement a medical professional volunteer program
  • provide the best quality healthcare to the children and families of Lamu.
  • (2019 and beyond) build have a birthing center and round the clock care
